Honours Year Project (HYP) updates
I have been very busy with my HYP lately and usually do till around 1am, haha... I have been trying to tell myself to go to bed early. Anyway, thank God for all the help He has been blessing me all along. Managed to settled down on MVC idea and started to modify my library resource examples. There's three part in this MVC idea: Model - View - Controller.

I have done the models of this example, then also just completed the Controller yesterday (modify some methods of it today) and eventually the hardest part, View. My HYP titled 'Generating and Handling Forms' and View is the major part of the MVC idea in my project. My ultimate purpose is to program something that can automatically generate forms out of something, probably in text/json (if you know what that means). The Model(s) and Controller(s) will be provided by the user who wants to use my 'automatic form generation tool', and this tool will provide the View. User can configure the View easily, by editing the text/json (that can be load in and out from the tool). Looks complex, but given the time I have left, I got to do at least something working. Haha... at least a version 1. Haha... I think I will still continue to improve on this tool and also the TCTK after I graduated, though I may not continue to take on graduate research. All depend on my Lord's will for me as He knows me the best, better than I know myself. Haha...

Still deciphering or "guessing" how Michael wants the form tool to be like. Haha... his idea looks great but... when it comes to implementation... some things just need to get straight out...

Side dish is getting heavier
Side dish here refers to the other modules I am taking: CS4271, MA3245, QF3101 and ST1232. Lecturers started to post the date for midterm exams and the nearest one is this Friday, 22/2, CS4271. Next two will be MA3245 and ST1232 the week after the mid-semester break (next week). QF3101's midterm is in week 9. MA3245 and QF3101 have declared themselves to be close book exams, and ST1232 has a high probability that it is closed book too. Haha... wow... 3 closed book exams in my last semester... (have mostly open book exams in all my 3.5 sems in NUS, but average 1 per sem) and this sem the most - 3. Haha... luckily I got attempt the tutorials for these modules (except CS4271, only got lab assignments), that I manage to catch up... or else I will be very behind, because have not been revising the lecture notes over the weekends. Haha...

That's all for now, have to sleep early. Good night... oh ya... have been inviting friends for the Soiree 2008, harmonica concert. Haha... hope my friends are willing to come. I can even give them the tickets for free... as long as they willing to come... nightzz....

Why stress?

I have been sleeping late this week, around 1 or 2pm (maybe you don't consider late, but it is late to me, haha...). Been working on my Honours Project lately. Rushing? Although our due date for the report submission has yet to know, we can guess that it would be quite near to mid-March. Haha... so buck up now... make sure I got something to write for report, something to present to the examiner and something to display on my poster, haha... stress?

Soiree 2008 is near the corner now, less than a month now, March 1. Our recitals and orchestra looks like still "under standard" in the views of our conductor. Can tell from her expression that she is stressed, haha... good luck to those solos and ensembles... conductor wants to cook them like instant noodle... haha...

Oh ya... not a good ticket sales this year... think didn't push enough... haiz... haha... I gave 4 to SanWoo, then I bought the remaining 5. Three is reserved for JiaEn, KahYing and TungLieng... left 2 more... anyone want? Haha... just $10! Haha... cheap cheap... but very nice concert! Worth it one! No regret!

Well, back to my hyp now or... better still sleeping time! Haha... intend to sleep a bit earlier today, took my bath without wetting my hair, hehe... so that I don't need to wait for it to get dry up before I can sleep, haha...

Oh ya... why stress when you know that everything is in God's hand? Hehe...

Good nitez...

Lunar Chinese New Year Eve

Dinner at Brother Eddie's house
Last night, we (TungNgie, LiChe, HongKit, MeiYu, MeiFeng and I) have a nice steamboat dinner at brother Eddie's house. We have curry chicken (+ potato) and a dish with Lu Zhi 卤汁 - 1/2 eggs, 2 kinds of toufu and meat, together with the steamboat. We have vegetables, abalone, mushrooms, fish balls (and the pink one is crab or prawn balls? Hmm...) and fish. We have a great time sharing too. Wah... eat till very full, haha...

Yesterday my brother and I had lecture till 8pm, and HongKit said his class would end at 7.30pm too. It seems like we will be terribly late for the dinner (and causing others to wait for us), God brought us safely and on-time there. Haha... HongKit managed to end his tutorial ard 7pm ++, and he took MRT from Boon Lay. By the time we 3 (LiChe, TungNgie and I) got on taxi, he had reached Admiralty MRT. So we told the taxi driver to go to Yio Chu Kang MRT to pick him up. Hehe... both of us reached YCK MRT together and then we went on to Eddie's house. Haha... Glad the taxi driver is nice too. That's our pre-eve dinner! Haha...

Today...
Played basketball this morning but didn't shoot as good as yesterday, haha... but enjoy the time though, running and chasing after the ball... before it reached the dirty water at the side. Haha... determined to make full good use of my Chinese New Year break (from Wednesday to Sunday), managed to finish off CS4271 take-home assignment 1 (considered done I guess, except some ambiguity. I posted in the forum already, waiting for replies, hehe...). What I gonna do next would be following through the tutorial for SMV model checker, as to prepare for CS4271 lab assignment 1 (looks tough this time). Haha...

Later my brother and I will join LiChe for her reunion dinner with her aunt's family. Haha... hope that's alright for them. Hehe... My brother and I joined reunion dinner of Ferry's guardian during our 1st and 2nd year in NUS, then we had our own steamboat dinner in our 3rd year. So 4th year now... in LiChe's aunt house. Haha...

Bah, think that's all for now. Continue on my work now, hehe...

Soiree 2008, please support!

Soiree 2008 - Our NUS Harmonica Orchestra annual concert will present you very interesting pieces from a variety of songs, orchestra pieces featuring "Under the Sea", "America" (very interesting arrangement by Martin Bills), "Jewish Folksong", "Toledo" (orchestra playing with a soloist) and a grand piece "Marche Slave".

Details:
* 1st March 2008 (Saturday), 8pm
* UCC Hall (Opposite Raffles Hall... or take NUS internal shuttle bus A2 (free) till the stop after opposite YIH... still don't know? Go to http://www.nus.edu.sg/cfa/facilities/ucc/index.html and click on the "[Location]" link at the top. You can't probably miss it!)
* Buy tickets from any of our members (best if you want to buy from me), just $10.60 for exciting pieces, gurantee no regrets! (Unless you are those really like classical music one, because we play music of different types, hehe...)
* Music Director and conductor - Ms Josephine Koh
* A harmonica virtuoso, Yasuo Watani is playing some of his best solo pieces too
* Anyone know who is Tan Aik Hong? He has a concert coming August, so this is a "peek" session too on his concert!

That's all for advertising Soiree 2008. I am playing in the orchestra too, please support us... 请你们愿意赏脸。

As the concert is approaching, we are indeed practising very hard for it and I can see that the juniors are improving wonderfully. From 2005 till now, I think the batches of juniors coming in are getting better and better, haha... because the pieces we playing year to year are getting harder and harder, not to mention last year's "Bacchanale" and this year's "America". They are certainly good music (nice to hear) but difficult to play, as always the case... a nicer music is always a tough piece for the performer(s). Haha...

My harmonica (used for 3 years) didn't survive through its 4th year, sad... its hole 5 draw (D) gone flat... or should I say... becomes B of a lower octave... so... I am thinking whether I should buy a new one or just borrow one from the orchestra, haha... well this is the last year I have subsidy as I am graduating this semester (cheerzz... hmm... not that happy... need to look for job and house...).

Homeworks and revision starts to pile up and I have been neglecting them (the only thing I did is just attending lectures and tutorials for the modules I am taking this semester)... all my time goes to my HYP... haha... shouldn't spend too much time on it... need to balance out my time. Haha... need to seek my Lord, continue to follow His command as He knows what's best for us. Hehe...

Anyway, good night for now... very late already... I have a TiddlyCard meeting later (coz it is today le) at 9.30am in MR4. I have finish prepared the slides for it, hehe... updating my supervisors and the team on what I have done throughout my holiday in Brunei and these few weeks. Tutorials started this week and got to tell myself to be hardworking. This semester's determination is not to touch PS2 till the end of my last paper (exam), haha... see if I can fulfill my determination or not (I failed to do so last semester, hehe...)

Good night...
